Can anyone decode these diff numbers ??

Hi, I've just pulled the diff out of the axle casing and the following numbers are stamped on..
These are the numbers ..pics to follow soon, cheers Ian

3 82 - 7341 - 1 ? 8620 ( this is stamped on the crown wheel thingy)

24671 ( stamped on the diff itself )

There off my 67 Barracuda...

There should be a number cast into the carrier on one side by the pinion, it will end in 741,742 or 489, that identifies the carrier. Aftermarket gears usually have the ratio stamped into the crown wheel, factory gears don't from what I recall, so I think you have a factory set, googling the numbers might get you somewhere. You can also tell what style of diff you have by looking at it if you put some pictures up, it will be open, limited slip of some design or a spool.

Ok it's a 489, that's the case everyone wants, it's considered the strongest.
