Would have been a second hand one as that's a 1965-67 Renault 10 Major (piece of crap). Maybe it was the Janitor's car.

Though we did get Simca's over here with Pentastars on the wing?

Indeed we did. Simca at that time was part of Chrysler Europe (with Rootes Group) before they were sold on to PSA Peugeot Citroen in 1979 (thank you wikipedia). The models were then rehashed as Talbots for a while.

1969 was such a good year. Not only did we get 69 charger we got 69 vette (the best year design)!
