This was supposed to have happened in 2020 but got rearranged for 2021 - cancelled again then finally went ahead this year.
Thanks to Matt and his long-standing association with the Triumph Sports Six Club (TSSC), we booked our tickets through them and had a great spot in their campsite, over looking the track, just down from the Dunlop bridge.
Apart from the company, the cars and the racing, the facilities provided really contributed to making it a great (long) weekend as there were 3 separate shower/toilet blocks within our exclusive (TSSC) camp site plus catering and bar facilities provided by the club.
Once there we met up with a couple of others - Paul and Shaun who Matt introduced us to, from a local Hot Rod club, the A602's. They got the Eurotunnel in Paul's VW camper but we got the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe. Travel time for each method was approx the same but we opted for the ferry as it's a bit cheaper with less miles to drive thru France. We all arrived around 12 noon on the Thursday (June 30th), which was when the club campsites opened up.
I've got just under a million photos to post so bear with me...
First off - journey down to Newhaven.
Me, Stu, mate Andy went in Paul's crew-cab Ram. Matt and his daughter Ellie in his Challenger and his son Jack and Mandie (Mrs H) endure the whole journey in Jack's Spitfire!
As you'd expect, there were quite a few classics queuing for the ferry
