can someone explain the differance between, detroit locker, LSD, and a posi rear end, :wacko:

Detroit locker mechanically locks the diff. Suregrip LSD comes in 2 flavours; Clutch type and cone type. Don't know about posi.

A posi rear end is a pile of poo belonging to a certain non-mopar car manufacturer we don't like to talk about in these here parts boy! :violent3:

someone`s a little touchy, i won`t mention posi again, whoops sorry, :clown:
ok would i have one of the others in my axle, as standard or do i need to buy, how do i check :tongue3:

Lsd is a term, limited slip differential, all you mentioned are a form of this although they work in different ways, You have a sure grip if you have one (Chryslers name/type)

To check if you have one, stick the car in neutral, jack the rear wheels off the ground, spin one, if the other rotates in the same direction you have one, although it may be worn, the best way to check this is what Pete said above 8-)

Yep, detroit locker is a locking differential, LSD is a class A drug and posi is some sort of GM nonsense, Anything else you want to know you only have to ask...... ;)

ok thanks chaps, the cars up on a ramp over the next few weeks so i`ll check the rotation then, oh and then i`ll give the black line`s a go :lol:
