No, I didn’t. I decided not to paint it in what I had as I reckon it would crack. I’m coming back to it with something suitable.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

I’ve got a feeling the factory didn’t paint the spring either.

No idea to be honest, Blue, but it was covered in crap, so just got as much of it off as I could and dropped it on there for now. Was going to get some flexi-plastic type paint and try that.
Let’s face it, the black ‘ain’t right either, but it’s never going to be a rivet counter car and looks better than it did.

I’m going to have to stop somewhere, I did then and then realised I really should do the brace as well, but I’ve got to get on. The paint outside the bay is all a bit knackered anyway, so really ought to clamber back out of the rabbit hole.
Been away for a few days, so itching to get back on with the grille now.

Don't want get to far down that rabbit hole or you'll miss the summer but it's easy to get dragged into the old "case of while I'm here and can do that as well"Stu wrote: Sat Jun 03, 23 11:36 pmcheers.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
Cheers Dave. Yes that’s exactly the problem. I think I’m at the stage where “while I’m here” doesn’t matter so much now, as I won’t need to pull the motor to get at the rest of it, so I can park it and crack on.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
a wicked combo of superglue and baking soda turns into a plastic much like the "nut" on an electric guitar
i.e super glue it and sprinkle to get it to set immedialty so you can do the next bit
position douse and sprinkle
can be sanded and filed aterwards and can with practice be used to fill gaps and holes or build edges
practice on something less important first
less mess than aralidite a recipe for missery in my hands... and easier to use in confined space than other 2 part epoxy glue filler chemical metal type things
although a must admit to having built up and wittled a 1 year only plastic arm rest base before, using chemcical metal... looked mint but hey easier to buy new when santa is paying
