So here's the latest on my '71 Beeper.
You may remember last year it was red. Well this car left the factory FJ6 Sassy Grass Green. So here it is many years later with a fresh coat of its original colour. Once again Richard Ward is responsible for preparing the rust free body and laying on the gorgeous paint. Strobe decals, a Go-Wing and chin spoilers will look the part along with the original Air Grabber hood.
Dave Billadeau has screwed together a 493ci stroker motor, with 4.15" stroke crank, 10.75:1 forged pistons, Crower roller cam, Edelbrock aluminium heads with roller rockers, and other nice things.
The car has uprated suspension all round, front and rear anti roll bars, and a 'firm feel' steering box. - That's the handling sorted.
The interior is entirely original immaculate '71 vintage. (This car has only 59,000 original miles)
Wheels are going to be stock 15 x 7 Ralley's for the moment, until i can make up my mind if i want to fit some shinier pieces.
The car is all going back together now, and being treated to 2" ceramic coated headers, and a full TTI 3" exhaust all the way to 3" correct appearing stainless tips.
I reckon my Road Runner will be ready in time for the Nat's. I'll definitely be running it up the track. - I can hardly wait!
(The keen eyed amongst you may notice Pete Wiseman's '62 Plymouth in the background.)

yep i think your right .... i also thought it was sassy grass , hear is a picture of it in 1990 at hickstead a year after it was imported. my dad nearly bought this in 89.
Thanks guys. I reckon it will be finished and ready to drive in time for the Nat's. I hope so, - i want to run her up the track.
Over the years i have owned a lot of Mopars, icluding 340's, 383's, 440's, Six-Pack's, Hemi's, R/Ts, Super Bees etc. and I still own my Hemicuda, Challenger Convertible, and this Road Runner.
There is no doubt the nicest Mopars to drive are the 'B' bodies, - especially the 71 & 72's. This '71 was a lot of fun before i gave it to Richard Ward and Dave Billadeau.
I've gotta say, the Hemicuda for all it's supposed 'greatness' is not the best balanced car to drive. The Challenger is better - the 340 is a wonderful engine, and it doesn't dominate the driving experience like the Hemi does. But for an overall mix of lots of power and fun to drive a 'B' body wins every time.
I can't wait to get my green 'Runner home.
