1968 Hemi Super stock
Here’s a photo of the first 1968 Hemi super stock car commonly known as the Mule. It was used as a test car to come up with a super stock package. It was a new 340 car taken off the production line, fitted with a Hemi and other modifications that would be replicated on the Hurst built cars. Also some original factory paperwork from the time. The Mule still exists and is up for auction at Mecum soon.

Sold to Akron Arlen Vanke for $1.00, to save it being scrapped. Jeez, if only I had a Time Machine! Or a winning Euromillions ticket…
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Didn’t sell and neither did the godawful Barris ‘67 Barracuda movie car.

$125,000, I bet they were after at least double that. I suspect the usual buyers are selling rather than buying these days.

A classic example of just because you can, doesn’t mean you should…

neil.
Re: 1968 Hemi Super stock
Barris also sold an overpriced package of non functional tat so you could spoil the look of your own car. Surprisingly (to me anyway) a couple of cars still survive with it all on.
