Hello.
I need an engine and transmission parts transported from Glasgow to Doncaster.
I can rent a van for this, but I don't have an engine hoist. I'm looking for recommendations on a pallet and transport service, or advice on lifting the engine into a rental van without a hoist - as it's something I have never done before.
Thanks
Martin

Re: Engine from Glasgow to Doncaster
two long scaffold or poles fence posts strapped either side
you can walk the engine around
you can use you trolley jack to jack one end of the poles high enough to get them on the sill of the van
you can then jack under the sump
and two of you can shove it in
done this in reverse to get one out onto a trolley
its not big its not clever, its not very sensible, but it worked

Sit the engine in an old tyre once in the van.
