Just got back from US and found this in my suitcase ! Result ! Appears to be the new 'sniper2' with dizzy and coil and loom and automatic timing blah blah blah. I'm not a purist.
Guess my winter project is sorted then...
It'll be a slow burn thread but I will keep it updated
Got it on the mustang 347 stroker runs sweet, when wiring in lots of the wiring needs to be cut and shut to keep it tidy or just tie wrap it up and hide the excess, also if you run a e/fan you can wire it in and set it via ecu programme
I was just going to go the sniper route - but decided that I might as well have it do the timing as well - so I got the dizzy and the electronics which will play nice with the injection. Mt current timing is fixed due to lack of vacuum so this should play nicer.
We'll see. There are a LOT of boxes...
Will have a 12V MSD all-in-one setup for sale at the end... get rid of that ballast resistor folks !
The sniper is still sitting here. With the dizzy, coil, all the electronic gizmos.
I now have my new engine courtesy of mr Billadeau - and its epic - Car is everything I wanted it to be. Its running a stripped out (like no choke, external filters etc) brand new holley750. Regular electronic dizzy, GM HEI module ignition. Starts on the button, pulls like a train.
So the choices are - install the sniper, let the computer sort it out, get her to run like a more modern car.
OR
Stick with what we have - old school rules. Sell the sniper setup. Its worth a few quid...
but you find yourself in the same situation as me...i have a full set of DCOE throttle bodies a nice set of injectors an ECU for spark and injection
map sensor TPS Lambda and the usual water and oil temp kit
all sitting in a box out of sight because its running so well.... i.e the minute i sprung for the kit i got the carb set up more or less sorted...
damn...
etc

Always said if it ain't broke, don't fix it, plus I am sure you'll find a buyer for the Sniper
Matt Hollingsworth - Vehicle Registrar
Panther Pink 73 Aussie Charger 265 Hemi 4 spd
Challenger Sam Posey Tribute car
Sounds fantastic as you describe it now, I'd stick. If you can afford to sit on the sniper kit for a year, you can always review that decision if it starts to give you any grief down the line...
I seriously considered going down this route myself
I needed a new induction system etc
However the thought of possible dodgy Chinese semi conductors and zero local backup made me stay old school!
New inlet , new distributor , new DP 750 Holley
Blah blah
However I do have option on fuel tanks as I’ve two new ones !
