My preferred vantage point is on the inside of Tertre Rouge, which leads on to the Mulsanne Straight...

As forecast, the rain did arrive around 11.30pm and continued for about 12 hours. The racing continued through the night though but mostly under yellow flag conditions, so we headed back to camp around 1ish for a nightcap

Despite the noise of the rain on the tent and the sound of the racing, it was still easier to get some sleep than on the ferry behind that snoring f e cker

You'll have to get a barrier to put round it at the NEC, so it's only viewed from 10 foot away

On Monday morning we vacated the camp site before the 10am deadline and headed for the local supermarche for brekkie and to top up on travel snacks, eg le haribo etc

With the car also refuelled we headed off thru the drizzle towards Dieppe, stopping a couple of times for more grub and more fuel

Next stop was an unscheduled one as Matt wanted to check a worrying noise, which he thought was coming from the n/s/f wheel...

Then back on track to get get some le McD's and more le fuel

And finally, the last leg back to Dieppe...

The queue for the ferry was better than any classic car show we'd been to since... well, Le Mans, I guess

Turned out to be some of the duct tape on the roof flapping. Which was a relief.
Love that ratty DB6.
Though it was only about a 600 mile round trip, I don’t think I’d fancy doing it in a 32 roadster.

I was hoping Matt would chip in with a full explanation but I think its duct tape covering a dodgy weld/join where a sun roof has been welded-up/repaired

What a trip team. Wow.
My first thought was "OMG I wouldnt dare try that with mine" but actually thats just me being daft - she'd be fine. The limitation is me hahaha. But maximum respect.

(grabs calculator) - 250 miles round trip to ferry. 360 round trip LeMans - say 60 gallons of fuel... EEK!

But seriously - epic trip, epic write up, usual standard of photos (epic). I think the queue for the ferry was awesome

PS - What was the prob with Matts wheel in the end ?
