Col's Cop Car

Post by Anonymous »

...Here's the most recent photo of the cop car. It's had a new dash cover since the photo (you can just about see the fuzzy bits where i pulled away the old cover).

It's also had a new 4 barrel carb and twin exhaust run through. The original carb and electronic ignition set up was proving troublesome, so sought some advice and got it changed over to a simpler set up. The twin exhaust thing was just me being a child and wanting more noise!!

My other half hates going in it because of all the attention it gets  ...i'll be taking the Daisy Duke hotpants back to the shop then...

Cop Car Updated

Couple of pics of the mods made to the cop car. Excuse the quality.

The old 2 bbl carb has been replaced with a new Holley 4bbl carb. Replacement inlet manifold and a new full dual exhaust system fitted. Drives like a different car....runs stronger and makes a great noise if you bury your foot. The 318 still returns decent economy as well!!

Also got the dashboard recovered, the guy was supposed to do the carpets but went bust before he completed it. He's done a great job all the same.

Cop car's been sold. Gone to the starcarhire.com people over in Ireland. Chap called Sean flew in and picked it up, drove 40 miles and broke down.

Got him towed back, Sean replaced water pump (after a 2 day delay on getting the part), tried again and he made it back to Ireland with no further problems. One of those things i guess. Good thing Sean was the fairly laid back type! Still, glad to see it went to a good home, and i got the asking price.

They're going to invest some money in it and have promised to post pictures of the progress.

Time to be sensible with my money for a few years. Although I'd quite like a 69 Plymouth Fury III, or perhaps an A-body...
