Need to clean oil off engine before paint

I have just taken off my headers to blast and paint and before I take off the sump to change the gasket and paint I want to get all the oil and dirt off the engine block.

Years ago you used Gunk but there must be something better and cleaner in a spray can now so what do you use

You know when you get your first air compressor and you buy one of those cheap air tool kits, they always have that funny parrafin spray gun thing which you never use and you can never figure out what its for ?

Well one of my friends bought a can of degreaser from Halfords or somethings and actually used his. He reconed it was pretty good so I went out and bought some myself. Havn't got around to trying it yet, but I'll let you know when I do

I use "Truck Wash" cum's in 1 gallon, dilute 4-1. apply with a spray bottle
of some sort, leave to soak for 10 min's, jet wash off, like brand new.
I've even used it on old seat's etc power wash of, leave to dry=mint

i use nielson traffic film remover, neat in a spray can then wash off with a strong jet of water. its great for getting oil off and cheaper than gunk
