immobiliser help needed

Post by Anonymous »

hi guy's does anyone know how to override the immobiliser on a 97 neon, theres a company up here that will do it but are asking a lot for doing it, and ill bet it's quite simple, this car is our daily driver and is rendered useless till i can get this done[modern technology you can shove it up your chuff] i dont mind doing the work myself, but i am worried about causing more damage especially where the ecu is concerned, thanks for any info, trev

I don't think it can be over ridden if it is the original unit, it is linked to the ECU

hi all, had to get something done about neon so used local firm, they came out this morning, and my wife gave them the keys, dawn said by the time she had turned round it was running so they drove it away, later that day i got a call saying it was all completed! apparantly the dash has to come apart to do the job correctly but they wouldn't tell her how, oh well at least i can do the shoppin this saturday, before the masses get oot of bed!
skip i was gonna phone you tonite but didn't get in till late so wil call tomorrow

I was going to call you last night Trev to see if it was fixed yet. But didn't have time as I had to go out to get petrol and then had to watch Kill Bill Vol2 so I could give it back to my mate at work. Plus the dog had the squirts so I was out every half hour with her. :(

Glad to hear it is easily sorted by these guys. What was the final damage price wise? I think as a club we should find out how to do this.

hi dave the final cost was ?80 plus a gallon of beer, i got quite a bit of discount coz i work at kawasaki which is next door to their sister company autosounds, the original quote was ?160 plus ?40+vat callout, so i was well pleased, just drove the neon home with no problems, i think you are right about finding out how to do this, i asked the bloke, but he declined to divulge the info which is fair enough i suppose, well bye for now mate trev
