£1600, it would be more £16000+ now!
then double it.....
Erm.. I think you're both still living in the 80's - this one is currently for sale at $279,995...

I was trying think what one would go for over here (realising it would be a lot more in the states), but cant remember seeing/hearing any prices for 440+6 cudas, so would have guessed nearer £50k to be honest, but didnt want to get carried away !!
It's not a hemi, after all.....
And the last I heard of one of them changing hands was a few years ago for about £60k.
By the way some cars are prices over here... well who knows what things are really worth these days

I remember a restored one exactly like that for sale in the late 80s or early 90s for £16,500.

Well to be fair Rob, $280k is probably the current high water mark for a 71 440-6 hardtop - that one is an ISCA National show winner, with some provenance, and is loaded with options. Same colour though.

With 71 Hemi Cuda convertibles changing hands for miwyons of dollars, there seems to be hysteria around ANY 71 Barracuda these days. A US buyer apparently offered $20,000, sight unseen, for Lauren's well rotted Belgian 318 Gran Coupe

Anyway, we don't know if the one in Sandy's advert was an original 6bbl car - perhaps Yorkie's friend can confirm.

When I was a student, way, waaay, waaaaay back when, I was very taken with Martyn Davids hemi Challenger in 'Hot Car' ?? So, I filled in one of Endsleigh's (the students preferred insurer) quote thingies and sent it in, just to see what they would say about insuring a 19 student with a hemi Challenger. Suffice to say, I am still awaiting a reply.

However, about a year later, in good old Exchange and Mart, John Mimmack in Blackpool (bless him) had a 1970 Challenger for sale.

I strongly suspect it was this one, as this is the only 225ci, 1970 Challenger I have ever heard about in the UK with a three speed manual. I was that close to going to see the Challenger with the right money, but backed down as student realities set in.

Later, when I did eventually buy my 1972 Gran Torino Sport from John in 1985, I asked him about a slant six Challenger he had for sale five years before, and he remembered the car and said some guys had come up and taken it down south to put a V8 in it and turn it into a racecar.

Shame. How unique would a slant six, three speed manual SE 1970 Challlenger be now ?

I still have all the origional Classic American magazines starting at no 1
They were given to me by a local guy i knew who emigrated to the US a few years back,i went to buy a couple of books of him and ended up with Boxes of stuff! for £20! a good deal :)
I just missed out on an ultra rare Galaxy for about 2k  it was something like a 427 racer i think?i cant remember what it was exactly?i just new at the time it was cheap and rare.
I missed out on that by a few hours  the guy was loaded and in a rush so was not bothered by letting all his stuff go for next to nothing!

Anyway the point is do you want me to post some Mopars for sale in the early issues of them? or has someone beat me to it already?

yeah TyreMan post them it would be good to see cars for sale for sensible money , no offence meant to any one selling, but it goes to show how prices have sky rocketed in the last 18 years.
