Why is the majority of garage equipment red?

Kev,so they don't have to clean it so often when you cut yourself or smash your head off it.Hope this helps

Im gessing its to do with its racy image?? As in Ferrari and Porche ect. Mind, that was when they where the bee's nee's of car's and not view'd as expencive 80's cheese! You see alot more colour's out there these day's. And Stainless is becoming more and more popular too. You'll still see heap's and heap's of Red though, mainly because a garage mechanic will have a red Snap On unit and they last forever,(kinda like my Tonka toy's)
