IS this normal?

Post by Anonymous »

While out hooning yesterday, I noticed that every now and again when I burnout I only spin up one wheel and not the usual two. Is it normal for suregrip axles to do this or do I have a problem lingering?

Sounds like the sure grip is on it's way out, that's the usual symptoms....

Bugger! If that the case, are they difficult to rebuild? Or would it be cheaper/easier to replace?

Depends if it's cone type or clutch type. Not 'sure' if the 8 1/4 came with both flavours. As Dunc said, yer better off with an 8.75, but you're in for at least a monkey from scratch.....

Ya! Plug on the side on an 8.75". Car at ride height, fill with oil 'til it comes out the hole.
