My shifter cable has finally siezed up completely, its gradually got more difficult to shift over the time Ive had the car, and yesterday I pulled the shifter cable out of the car and you just cant move it, its stuck solid.
So I searched to forum, and saw this topic;
http://www.mopartalk.co.uk/mopartalk/vi ... ts&start=0
Which was really, really good in finding out about manual valve body conversions.
However, I just need a cable and fittings though. Probably the kit will come with a floor shift mechanisim too, although this part is fine I dont mind buying the whole lot and fitting it, better to get one whole kit than cobble something together.
I noticed a couple of things on Ebay and they mention a B&M shifter kit that has the "pan bracket" included.
So my question is, as my car has the manual cheetah vavle body conversion, will a standard shift cable kit fits still (i.e. will the "pan bracket" still fit)? Also does anyone have any recommendations for shifter kits. My pattern is P-R-N-1-2-3 btw

You need the correct cable for the shifter Markie, I seem to remember yours being an Art Carr. I would send your old cable to Speedy cables and get them to make you a new one to match what you have. Don't have the address but they are on 01639732213. When you fit the new cable try to keep it as far away from the exhaust as you can, it's this heat that melts the nylon inner liner and siezes the cable solid. Use some of that silver heatproof sleeving on the cable if you can't get it away from the headers.
Thanks blue. Im going to send my cable off to them tomorrow. I spoke to them today but they only do the cable which is fine, but I also wanted to change the brackets. Speedy cables dont do brackets apparently.
Underneath the car there is a home made bracket that was mounted under the floor, its ok but its a bit knackered now and doesnt look like it will last, its was also held on with cable ties. Id like something a bit more solid that will bolt up to the floor or better still to the transmission housing.
I saw this on ebay, do you think this would fit with the new cable?

If you are going down to customville then let me know what they have there, that'd be great. I got brakets on the car already but they are not in a very good state. Theres ends on the cable and all that, im talking about brackets that actually bolt the cable to the floor near the shifter and near the trans
