where does this go?

Post by RoelB »

I feel very stupid  asking this, but I stripped the car 3 years ago and I just cannot remember or find the pics of where this shield fit. I am sure it is around the rear next to the fueltank somewhere.
Thanks!

Dave, thanks, I also have a Challenger book, but it' not the same. The pic will show the heatshield is already in place. What really gets me down is I know I have a pic somewhere of how it fits, but with al the house alterations etc I cannot find it.
Alex, i also think it should fit over the emmision pipes, but I can't se how, I feel really stupid tonite, and I only had 1 beer!

Just sent you an email with the full size diagram. Sorry but I didn't scan it and it is a bit poor.

Thanks Dave and Alex, that is the tubeshield on your diagram, which I'll use to fit it the correct way. Starting to make more sense now!

Only just found this thread, but I recognise the part (I have it on mine, though also disassembled). I very probably have an 'installed' picture that I took for this exact reason, I'll try and check it out tonight at home.

(On the other hand, having taken literally thousands of pics, this will no doubt be the one I don't have...we will see!!)

The factory diagram does show it quite well

Hey guys, I appreciate any help, mr Norm , if you van send the pic, I'll appreciate it, I just cannot figure out the way it should fit, and I even have a uni degree ( from darkest Africa, mind you  ).
Anyway, I'm off to Spain on Sat for a week, but I'll check the post, as Kev says, this board is unbeatable!!!!!

Sods law strikes again...clearly I removed this before taking my car off the road, the earliest pics I have do not show it!

I'l try and offer it up to the car.....
