Are they super stock springs?Dukerich wrote:My car sits kind of high in the rear, it looks like it has had bigger leaf springs put in but I would prefer a lower stance.
Either way you just have too much arch in the springs.
If they are new then they will settle a bit over a few months use. End of problem.
If they are not going to settle you can either have them re-arched or you can use lowering blocks between the spring and the axle.
hi mate haven't got air shocks on have you? also if you lower the springs your wheels might catch the arch like mine does, are those daisymags alloy or chrome? backspacing looks the same as what's fitted to mine, 3.3/4"
any chance of a pic of the front spring hangar? so we can determine if it has superstock springs fitted, bye fer now, trev.

You're wrong there Dave,if you adjust the t/bars,car sits higher, been there done it.I'm talking about clipping the top of the arch with high profile tyres.Dave wrote:That would only alter the ride height. That is exactly what i said. It effects the ride height NOT the suspension rate.Adam68 wrote:You're wrong there Dave,if you adjust the t/bars,car sits higher, been there done it.Dave wrote:That would only alter the ride height. Not the suspension rate.
Well it looks pretty obvious to me the ride height on Rebel's car is pretty stock. Lots of room under these wheel arches if you use the correct spring rates and wheel offset.I'm talking about clipping the top of the arch with high profile tyres.
I use 245/60/15s on 8 x15 wheels on the front of my Challenger. Bigger than some of you guys are using on the rear!
And my suspension is lowered!

Dave, for someone as well informed as you,i'm surprised you can actually say that you didn't have to modiy the front suspension height,as these cars will not run with anything bigger than 235/60/15s,without adjusting suspension height. If these cars are set up with stock height suspension as per FSM,you cannot use these tyre combos,as they hit the top of the arch.Unless of course, you don't drive the cars this hard.![]()

Dave, you have exactly the same as I have,245/60/15 & I don't believe you didn't adjust tortion bars to suit that combo & if you didn't,your suspention height was not stock before you got hold of it,or worse still,it was not set up as per FSM.

Adam old chap. You seem to have trouble reading what I write.
Of course I have altered the front suspension height. Read what I wrote. My suspension is lowered.
And of course it is not set up as per the FSM as you put it. Because the FSM is for a completely stock car with stock suspension and stock 14 inch wheels and skinny tyres. My car is set up to handle well and you can't do that at the stock height.
I did delibrately mislead you though.
What I didn't say was I cut the wheel lip. That was naughty of me. Sorry.
But really. If you use the correct backspace on the wheel you will not hit the lip. What sort of backspace are you talking about??
Have a look at the photo. See the slight rake? Just how I like it. But I had the rear springs made to my spec to get it right.
Rear wheels are 295/50/15 on 10x15 wheels.
Now you are going to tell me I can't do that either without rubbing something or jacking it up aren't you?

Oh and Adam. You wanna put money on you being quicker around a circuit than me with my car? I wouldn't.
Suspension is 30% uprated over stock hemi/440 spec. All poly bushed and chassis strengthened. 55/45 weight ratio front to back. Quick ratio steering. 540hp.
I may not make myself look like a pratt by doing burnouts in the street but I do drive hard otherwise.
