Glad to hear trans is ok, but Boss Hog are definitely off my list. That’s two people I know personally with similar issues and a check online shows a lot of people having problems.
Fingers crossed you can sort for Dragstalgia.

You know, thinking about it, you didn’t race at all last year, did you? So it’s lasted even less than I first thought!

I’m thinking they are not great quality, I will get it cut open at some point to see what’s what. Order placed Today for a Custom built PTC race converter, could be here in 3 weeks. To place the order I need the cars weight so it was on the scales this morning. With a full tank of fuel and me in it it went 3125Lb and a surprising 48% front 52% rear bias. Pretty much as good as you could hope for with a full interior mostly steel street car.

Total strip on the transmission to clean out all the aluminium scarf and I’ve started to reassemble it.

Probably a stupid question, but with all the gaps, nooks and crannies in a trans, how do you make sure you’ve got all the swarf? Is it a case of swilling with trans fluid once you’ve got the majority? Never had to do it, so interested in the how.

It goes into the parts washer and run the nozzle down all the ports. To be honest the filter will have stopped the vast majority of it going through everything, most is just sitting on the surface. It’s like a fine silver mettalic paint.

Sorry to see this mate.
Obviously know the pain, so hope you are back up and running for Dragstalgia.
It's interesting to see that it looks like an almost identical failure to mine. Nobody likes metallic trans fluid!

Bit of a road test this morning to confirm all is well. Brake lights and shifter solenoid are not working but other than that, it’s all good. I know what I’m doing next week…

Good to hear it's back on the road Blue. Stunning colour in the sun.

I noticed my brake lights were not working a few weeks ago. A few days before I'd had the dash out and when I'd got it all back together and connected the battery I noticed the hazard lights were on so switched them off. The brake lights are routed first through the hazard light switch and then the indicator switch. Must have been a bad contact on the hazard switch because all I did to get the brake lights to work was operate it a few times.

Nice one Mick I’ll check that first, the dash has been out recently.
