Fantastic!
I am surprised that you have not invested in a Plasma cutter for that sort of intricate and curved work. My Angle Grinder only works in straight lines!
I have also found a Sawzall quite dissapointing in terms of speed and usabilty.....

Agree there Pete, the Plasma cutter is a great tool. Like the preverbial knife through butter. Also flexible aswell, bit like drawing with a pen, too put it simply. If i had a fully fitted out garage i would have one on my shopping list. Great work by the way Blue, thats what i miss about driving lorrys as opposed to fixing em, the use of full workshop facilitys. Keep up the work over christmas, we will all have cabin fever, will need something to look at.

I've borrowed a plasma cutter to do the job, I can't justify the expense for something I'd only use once in a blue moon. I don't intend to do this particular job ever again....

Blimmy blue your going at it like Duncan with 2 tongues, you is one clever fella, wish I had those skills. Its going to look spot on that car. I would go as loud a possible with the paint if it was me sub lime I think.

Now that Christmas is out of the way, time to crack on. You can remove the inner part of the arch pretty much in one piece.

After that you just have to keep taking out bits to get access to other bits, it's slow and dirty work. Removing the last section which is spot welded to the outer arch is tricky and requires a steady hand to avoid cutting all the way through. I didn't get on too well with the plasma cutter and ended up doing most of it with an angle grinder with thin cutting discs, I've got through a box of 20 so far

Nice and neat Blue.
Will the diagonal braces need to be modified once the arch is " tubbed" ?

So it's mostly all out now, will leave the final trim until I have the tubs. I'll order them tomorrow now I know what size they need to be.
