belvederegaz wrote:i went throught this with my 62 belvedere, it drove me effin' crazy, the studs are swaged onto the drum but if you remove the swaging all that you will get off is a threaded stud, the ONLY way to seperate the hub drum assembly is to use a special puller tool from the 50's and 60s made in usa, good news is i have this tool, took 3 weeks of finding ,shipping and 80 quid for me to buy it, check this link how to do it
http://www.ch300imp.com/brakedrum_removal.htm

you may have a different set up to me but i tried heating, slide hammers pneumatic pullers and this 50's tool is the only thing which popped my hubs of with an almighty whack with a sledgehammer, remember to leave the hub nut on but loose or the drum will shoot off at approx 120 miles an hour, you are welcome to borrow my tool, drop me a line, gaz

Hi there - is that for the Rears or front as well?
I am well aware of the issues removing the drums on the early rear axles, but I found the fronts were "normal" drums.
Just checking.

thanks everybody :thumbright: I got my drum off the car no problem, the problem I`ve got is the 11" drums I bought are complete, but have no hubs. Now I thought I could just use my old hubs  but the drums will not come off the hubs, our friends over on the dodge coronet site say the wheel studs are swaged so as to hold the hub to the drum,it can be removed(with something that looks like a milling cutter with a hole up the middle to clear the stud) , or I might be best just grinding the whole lot off & buying new studs :? :help:
