Part of your problem, is getting all that weight rolling, if you set your car up to 60ft better, you may well lose your road handling. Heavy torsion bars and stiff front shocks stop the car reaction on launch. This is the reason why racers would use worn out front shocks on race cars, they would even drill them and let the oil out to make them softer.

I wouldn't pay to see that and wouldn't wish that on any one, theres nothing more sickening in the car environment than when your motor lets go.

Its a real choker

I got my old GTX down to 12.1 many years ago, car didn't like traffic, fowled plugs, didn't like driving on the street, It was so much nicer when it was turned back to stock, I could spend all day in traffic, and did. It's always a compromise street and strip, much simpler to have a nice road car, and also go full on race car, and I think in the long run cheaper.

Bru..Adam. I am running 4.30s with the GV. This equates to 3.30s with the OD on. 28-inch tyres too.

Your poor 60ft times are your problem. You need more gear and a loose converter.

No plug fouling for me , drives like a stock motor. :thumbright:

Dynamic 3500 stall vertor , the 1.8 60ft was due the Demon running lean @ idle , bogged off the line , then we got rained off

Dave , i don't think those gear vendors bring the RPM down as advertised , got 4:10s , @ 70 MPH the RPMs are 3300.

Errr....because you have a 3500 stall converter?

Actually that is another good reason to use lower rear gears. To make sure you at over the stall speed on long runs. If the converter is slipping all the time it might get hot?
