I think the 5 series is a beautiful car.

IMO German cars are always ahead of the game and other car manufacturers look at what they are producing and copy them. New Golfs and 3 Series always look to extreme to be but a year or so later they look so right.

Anyway, how much cheaper is this Caddy than a 5 Series? Id have one as I dont car about re-sale that much either.

Well obviously you have some very personal feeling about these cars to write such a spirited outburst! :D Did some BMW driver cut you up again or was it forgetting to indicate thats got your goat?

Im not sure how you cant tell the difference from a Merc, Beemer and an Audi, they look miles apart in my opinion. I hate the new Merc look but love the BMW shape. Audi's im in different too. Although I really like the Q7! =P~ o there

Each to there own though. What non Jelly Mold car would you suggest? Please dont come up with some Jap crap. :x

I have been in a Modern Caddy they are fantastic,a Bose? sound system and a seat that gives you a massage.Brad Horn had an STS i think it was about 50K new? only cost him about 6k? it was still in new car condition for a fraction of the price it was new.I was impressed with it.

Andy dont embarass yourself mate,

They are all german, all silver, all boring to look at and most to drive. just the badge tells em apart

I rate the Japanese cars above the german stuff anyday.

Jap engineering is by far superior GTR R35 against your M5 anyday

in all aspects except leather interior

Most Honda luxury or performance will out last all bavarian made vehicles with more technology all included, not extras

Hondas legendary B16a1 engine...has never failed EVER.

Im not sure who it was either Barnes Wallace or RJ Mitchell was totally impressed and shocked at the excellence or Japanese engineering and comented on it during the war, expressing that we needed to look carefully at their engine building skill.

The Motorcycle industry is testament to that over here, no worldwide.

Anyway "REP" boy each to our own  ...dont let the advertising make life decisions for you :thumbright:

I'd take the Caddy or Honda DC5 Integra

Well, Im not talking about Japanese Exotica here, just the daily drivers like the Caddy.

Saying all German Cars look the same is like saying American Muscle Cars all look the same when clearly they dont. I dont even know why we're discussing this, Im not some Beemer Fan Boi anyway.

Anyway, call it what you will but Id sooner have a German Jelly Mole 5 Series in Silver than an Identi-Kit Rice Rocket Corrola. :D

Im With Andy. Love Beemers, amd an M5 puts out more than a bone stock GT R34.

Jap cars have no cred, and the Nissan GTR is a great car but its a premiere division Chav car, for the saturday night southend pier bell end boys.

Scoobys - Chavvy

Evo's - Chavvy

Type R's - Chavvy.

I rest our case

Oh, and BMW didnt have to cheat with the M5 by sticking turbos on to get the power like the GTR. Normally aspirated is serious engineered horse power.

Thats odd - I see pretty much the opposite to that... BMWs have zero cred - driven by tools, driven like tools. Bought for the badge and the so called engineering excellence is questionable. Engine liners, shonky vanos systems etc etc.
The only car I will *never* let out of a side turning. I tell you on a bike people think volvos are dangerous - but at least with them it is accidental. With a BMW driver he will see you and STILL cut you up with no indicators.
Nah - overpriced, overrated, and the badge acts as a tool-magnet.

Now TypeRs on the other hand - now THAT is some serious engineering. Oh I agree on the latter models and the suede-heads that it attracts, but that civic isnt a real type R. It is to type R's what 1series is to BMWs. The original IntegraR was a serious machine. Ditto the second Jap only cars (the DC5). Ditto the NSXR etc.
As for the Nissan GTR - You are talking from your bum sir. This machine destroys ANY bmw in terms of cred (as well as capability). Probably one of the most admired cars on the roads today. Whenever I see one it turns my head.
As for Evos - again - amazing machines, and a trip into the cyberzone.

You can have Scoobys though. Silly farty engines.

:)

Mate, not exactly 'Mr Current Affairs' are you

Just look at who aspires to own a Skyline / GTR. Wannabe mockney gangsters. Yes its a good car - didnt say otherwise, but it has 'Essex Chav' written all over it as does a Range Rover Sport Superchrged.

Scoobys and Evos are phenomenal cars but again, wanted by Chavs who cant afford to run one and owned by 40-something blokes in a mid-life crisis.

Scoobys, farty engines? STi R A Type R V Limited? I am tempted to say you havcent got a scooby yourself mate. Scooby doo that is :D

The area I was from, ie the Oil Capital of Europe most of the Oil Field Hands, Management, the lads with the money etc drive German cars. The Workshop young lads and the chav's get all hot and bothered over the Rice Rockets. Its defo a class thing in the Aberdeen area.
