Great stuff James.

Could you do me a favour and take a photo of the 'tell tale' flasher bulb (Dash indicator orange bulb), while yours is apart. Gotta get mine sorted and would rather have the right bulb ready when i rip the dash apart!

Will do mate, the lamps themselves are clear and push into black plastic holders that then push and twist into a hole in the back of the pcb.

I presume you mean the repeaters on the dash? Mine are green.

No rot found when I took the screen rubber out last week which is always nice

I thought I'd try this stuff as a replacement for the rubber tips that hold the visors in the rear view mirror sockets, mine had crumbled and fallen off a long time ago.

This stuff has worked brilliantly on a repair to the steering wheel so lets see how it does on these.

Its like a slightly sticky putty in a sealed sachet that cures in air, I'll wait 24 hours and see if it needs trimming once its gone off.

Formed and drilled out while still soft, it's not perfect but it might just do the trick

OK, due to financial constraints Iv'e finally decided to see if I can squeeze some more fun and oomph from the Demon rather than start again with a whole car replacement. So here we go, having never removed an engine before this could get interesting

but with the help of my enthusiastic daughter, we completed the first step yesterday

With a mixture of being over whelmed, out of my depth and a little bit excited , the journey begins............

I'm getting the feeling that this is going to be worth doing if just for peace of mind because the first thing I've discovered is that all of the bell housing to motor bolts were pretty much finger tight

I think I'm going to be posting a vast array of questions on this awesome forum, ranging from complete numpty to mildly confident

I don't think I'd be taking this on without the generous help available from everyone on here

Plan?????One thing is for sure, I always NUMBER my plans rather than letter them "Plan A, B, C etc" as that only gives you 26 chances of sticking to a plan

Seriously though, my main aim is to keep a drivable street car and improve on the consistent mid 15's on the strip.

With your help in the early days you seemed to think there's a bigger than stock cam but with no other real thought or effort on the rest of the engine it's not of any benefit at the moment.

I'd like to start by stripping down, seeing what we have (I say "we" because Wendy is thankfully just as enthusiastic as me with the Demon

)and then see what changes, if any, would improve response and acceleration.

As much as I'd like an 11-12 second car (wouldnt we all

) I have to say that this car has been amazingly reliable and a very regular drive which may not be the case with a more track orientated car

I will put a list up of what I think I have regarding diff, gears, motor, trans once I've compiled it

Actually, while I'm here and being lazy, can anyone tell me what size the bolts are that fix the trans to the engine so that I can get 4 to fix to my engine stand. I think they are going to need to be 4" long to reach through and fix safely

Would 3/8 16 sound right? Or any suggestions for where I should be fixing to on the rear of the block?
