Engine and gearbox back in today thanks to my 2 little helpers, (Anton and Andy). Thanks to Dave B for getting the parts to me so quickly we were able to get the enginge built by Thurday, painted Friday and put back together today.

Ran out of time today to get it started, also forgot to take keys, oil filter, oil and anti freeze down to Antons, will give it a go on Sunday.

Sorry about the pics, they where taken on the phone.

did you find out the reason for the broken piston?

he said a rod bearing had failed, which would cause the piston skirts to get a bit of a slapping about :violent1:

i see, i thought that was the reason why the bearings were changed previously so the piston damage is a knock on

Thanks for the comments guys, yes it is nice to have good friends, there's a group of about 20 of us that will help one and other at the drop of a hat.

Still not sure what caused it but all seems ok now.

For some strange reason the n/s/f brake hose started to leak the other day so while it was up on Anton's two poster I managed to get that sorted too, just had to replace the 2 copper washer on the hose.

Was good to take it for a ride in the sun this afternoon, only been out of commision for a week but it's seem like ages.

Does the engine feel any better than before Derek (other than the noise)?

Just wondering what kind of powerloss the nackered piston would have made?
