I think lots of us prefer the mag - but I do remember there was a LOT of whining about membership fees that lead us here.

Dont start me on that. Anyone who is running one of these old cars and baulks at £30 for membership to a community like this is someone I just dont understand. Best £30 I spend on the Charger all year. Heck, probably the best £30 I spend all year !!

How about a compromise and make it quarterly rather than monthly

It is already a quarterly magazine, used to be bi-monthly but we struggled to get the content to fill the magazine, and the costs were creeping up even then. Remember, content comes from the membership, not just the editor, it is all about sending Simon a few pictures and words to publish.
Each magazine production run cost about £2400 to produce and post, and this is a better price than many other printers can get near, and we did check for the best deals.
remember all the questions on here about going to an A5 magazine?
That was all down to trying to reduce costs when the large letter rate went silly.
Member numbers 300 ish at £25 each, you can immediately see where the maths doesn't work.

The possibility of a annual round up issue may be a good idea.
I know some other clubs and associations only do two or three magazines a year.

Maybe as Im (just) in the younger generation I dont feel the need to read a physical magazine. I think the cost, time and energy that goes into producing a hard copy (and even an electronic copy) is just not worth the cost and effort for a 15 minuet flick through. Everything I want/need can be found on this and other forums. Its the future! :D

Remember.................................................£52.00 a year membership fee only equates to £1.00 per week  if you have protected sex once a week the price of "CONDOMS" over 1 year equates to £2.50 per week. so I don`t see the money being an issue ;) ;) ;)

Sorry "JEFF" can`t print off anything at the moment as my printer has packed up ....... and I can`t afford a replacement   ......................... I only need £100.00 to buy one (and that includes the ink) :? :? :? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that equates to 4 years membership at the current rate and 2 years at £50.00 :? :? :?

Makes a hard copy of "CONNECTED" seem cheap at half the price.

By the way......do all the members of the MMA have a computer??? :? :? :?

I think part of the issue with the membership fee was that it was due in January & most people are short of cash then, this has now been sorted by having the renewal later.

So the way I see it is if we increased the membership to £30 & produced an A5 size mag once, maybe even twice a year everyone would be happy.

Obviously this is something the committee will need to look into properly & Matt has a lot on his plate at the moment so give us a bit of time & we'll see what the best plan is.

That would work for me Shaun and keep most people happy i would think. Be nice if we could stretch it to 3 or maybe even 4 copies per anum and sure most members would'nt mind paying a little extra membership :thumbright:

This one always pops up and as Matt says the maths explains it all. But these days most club memberships are £30-35 pounds . So yes I would like to see a hard copy magazine a couple of times a year. It's putting things in prospective really. For a few extra pounds it's worth it.

For me 2 or 3 issues a year works for me. A4 would be best. Don't mind 5 quid more a year. How far does a fivers worth of juice get you running a big block??

I don't mind the PDF issues. Can read it at work and it don't get messed up.
But I would also be happy to pay more for a hard copy. Not fussed either way really. :thumbright:

I miss the hard copy, haven't read it since it went to download as our broadband speed is very slow in our area and makes downloadng anything a pain. Also if the poll was done on the forum, surely it only contacts the forum users who are more likely to say yes. Bi-annual mag would be okay and should have plenty of content from 6mnths.

To me a paper version is an waste of money , I faced the same issue some years back when I stopped offering our customers a printed catalogue .It became totally not viable . Get the odd whinger - yes - but on the whole I think most people are able to access media online these days.

Plus a good portion of what was in the paper versions was lifted from the forum anyway - so I had already seen it
