whether that outweighs the benefit of some nice brand new ones i don't know.....Probably not, given the age...but chrylser obvioulsy put in a bit of time and effort with something as simple as a u bolt...

Noticed that - they were indeed flattened and waffled. Now however, they are in bits. Such is the price of progress... I now feel quite sad though Poor moparbolts.
I do not know if it is an "Old Wive's" tale, but I thought that you could not re-use old "U" Bolts due to the stretch, etc; and potential to fail...........

yes that makes sense
if you wind em up to 80+ ft lb then definitely
mopar bolts in theory should be 45 ft lb (waffle and flattening helps)
don't know if that means you can use them again....
But yes i agree if in doubt anything that holds the wheels on your car should be replaced...
