i.e quite good
whether that outweighs the benefit of some nice brand new ones i don't know.....Probably not, given the age...but chrylser obvioulsy put in a bit of time and effort with something as simple as a u bolt...

Noticed that - they were indeed flattened and waffled. Now however, they are in bits. Such is the price of progress... I now feel quite sad though

Poor moparbolts.

The mounts are supposed to be offset.
You can lower the car by turning them upside down

conclusion. Very smooth. Cant fault it... Had to re-do one side to make sure u-bolts were 100% straight, but no hassles.
Not driven, but the bounce test suggests much MUCH firmer.
Expensive, but seem good quality and fit. Pics for those who care...

Ride height. Not ideal pics, but seems quite low (apparently 1" under stock). Looks OK though.

As long as you still have a very slight rake it will look cool. Or should I say even cooler.

Ride height looks great to me Morgan

At least the wheelarch isn't above the top of the tyre, which to my eyes, is when they start to look ridiculous
Great job

I do not know if it is an "Old Wive's" tale, but I thought that you could not re-use old "U" Bolts due to the stretch, etc; and potential to fail...........

You are right Pete. The stock bolts have nuts that are some sort if interference fit. That is why they are tight all the way off.
Don't think the replacements are like this though?
But anyway, once used always fit new.

I think the replacements my be Nylocs or similar. Some of them were. Cant remember now - it was a couple of days ago...
I'll have a look.

yes that makes sense
if you wind em up to 80+ ft lb then definitely
mopar bolts in theory should be 45 ft lb (waffle and flattening helps)
don't know if that means you can use them again....
But yes i agree if in doubt anything that holds the wheels on your car should be replaced...
