Next Up I found with the weight of Cummins engine the front leaf springs started crying

So these were replaced for heavy duty one

Wheels wheels wheels !!!!

The truck has original 8 stud axles front and rear

After lots of research I found that a hummer H3 had the same 8 Stud PCD

As this is the vehicle of choice for all drug dealer and pimps in your local area standard wheels are plenty and cheap.

I brought 1 as a test and after grinding the Center hole out she went straight on !!!

I brought a set cheap fitted giant tyres upgraded studs and nuts to 27mm Land Rover sizes and bobs your uncle fanny is antie

The truck had Manual steering and as you likly own a Mopar with power steering you will know, why you can’t feel the road and feel like you want to jump out at 120mph it is lovely !

I found a steering box chopped up frame rail welded in a new one. Made a steering arm it’s all a little bit scrap heap challenge but will work. The Cummins engine used in a digger has a small hydraulic pump fitted so this was installed and we have power steering !!

Prop ....

Cummins one side and dodge 4x4 transfer box the other

After buying every combination of UJ size know to man. I bit the bullit and made a prop

Cut off both ends in lathe straight and then welded it in lathe.

Turbo ..

Being the original Nutter I am I found a turbo off a P&O ferry brand new

It’s huge 35kg giant

I then spent hours thinking about how to make it work.

Sadly unless I’m going to run it for fun in a triple turbo set up it’s just not going to happen. I have kept it and have built the rest of the truck with this in mind....

Went for a very sensible HX35W which with added fuel and a few other mods should made some good reliable power

Big engines and big turbos need big cooling

I installed an Aluminium rad and screwed the biggest intercooler I could find to the front.

While I’m still on the fence about the look of it I might change later

There like willlies bigger is always better

I had my heart set on a 5inch system and had to fight for it


Looking back don’t do it ! Painful !



Everything is stainless steel

Exhaust brackets where made from stainless steel bar I bent around my neck while thinking about the hours I spent making the exhuast

New brake lines where made from stainless steel tubing all lines on the truck are the big 1/4 size which was interesting to bend and flare

Oil filer housing

Due to my silly exhaust the original oil filter housing had to be removed

I found that Cummins for £8 !!! Sold this plate for generator application

I mounted the tub and tried to get some idea of ride height and how best to tackle the body work

That's a beast . I was going to fit a Cummins 6BT in my '72 F250 4x4 but never got round to it and sold the donor RAM in the end.
