Steve number 1, no that's not my new car, mine's a foot shorter than that matey and a whole lot lighter!

Steve number 2, oops! sorry I meant B body (I've edited it) it's an early Coronet, by the way, and it had a home made pan and external oiling system, hence the notch in the K frame.

Thanks for all the tips, I will mull it over and decide what I'm most comfortable doing.
I'm looking forward to dropping the new/old/1000 mile motor. Perhaps then I wont be putting 1 pint of oil for every 100 miles of driving.

Regards to all

J

Cut the rad support out of mine too. What a doddle to get the eng & box in all at once. Also you can leave the hood on and dont need to jack up the back end.
I just had to lift the eng up enough so the sump cleared the front valence and wheeled it in with no silly angle req`d.Took about 1/2 hour on my own that way.HTH.

Just a little thanx for all the advice and tips on here, my mate and me removed the engine and gearbox within a few hours. Neither of us had done this before, so once again cheers for all the advice.

Forgot to mention the easiest way.

Just undo all the bolts holding the engine and box to the car and then rev the hell out of it. :thumbright:

Hi Again,

If you didn't take it out the Top, bottom or front, you must have taken out the firewall and removed the engine BACKWARDS!!!

Was gonna mention that method, but its a bit drastic?

Best of luck putting it all back in!

Baccy.

Some great thoughts here :D , easiest method ,chain the K frame to a tree , stick it in reverse & floor it.
