I am trying to remember this and it is tricky because it was about 3 years ago I had problems working out which way around the two wires from the dizzy go.

I think the spark has to trigger as the dizzy pickup field falls from positive to negative. If you get the wires around the wrong way the spark triggers as the field goes from negative to positive. Something like that.

I think the correct way around is the way that retards the timing. If you have the wires the wrong way around the timing seems a lot more advanced.

I think I have remembered that correctly. :?
