Yes I thought about that too but the other side still has raised lettering but plain black rubber so wouldnt be able to paint Goodyear over the General Grabber lettering.

Hi sinny thanks but notb really as the inside of the tyre has raised lettering ( General Grabber)moulded into the side wall so it would make it difficult to paint Goodyear on them. Shame coz it would of finished the job off perfect.

Carl - been searching through on 'Petty' to see more detail on the colour, wheels, decals, tyres, etc with regard to doing my 70 RR into a replica #43 so of course your car comes up a fair bit? Questions then;

Why those particular wheels and where did you get them?
The paint code seems easy to find on various forums, etc.
How did you go about sourcing the decals?

Definitely warming to the idea of turning mine into a #43 short circuit version as per the photo on my thread.....

If you want to remove the raised lettering from tyres you can do it with a razor or Stanley knife blade held flat to the surface and carefully (!) shimmy them off...
Done it a few times with bike tyres.

Carl's car was painted and 'stickered' long before he got it. At least a couple of ex-MMA members on here used to own it before he got his sticky mits on it

Yes as Rob said, I didnt do the stickers it was already done when I got the car, I might take them off and have them painted on, which is what Don has had done. The car is in its original colour from the factory (TB3 Basin Street Blue or sometimes called Petty Blue) although at one point it was painted met blue.

The wheels are Bassett D.O.T approved Nascar wheels. I imported them through Customville. If you get any NASCAR approved wheels, you will need the correct nuts as the seat angle is 45 degrees and the nuts are 1"
