Let me have a look at the online manual for your car. Im sure there is a diagram that shows you how the pressure circulates around your engine to avoid any confussion....wait one caller :thumbright:

Have just checked the "How to rebuild your Small block Mopar" and mine seems fine ( PCV passenger side ) - however it has raised a question....

As the PCV pulls gasses OFF the rocker; without having a "port" open on the drivers side rocker to pull clean air IN ( which I do not have ) is my setup, in fact, only half complete ?
I bought it like this but along with reading and all the good folks here, I'm starting to look objectively at the engine and make sure all is good.
A weird pressure imbalance in the engine could cause all sorts of bother I assume.
Any thoughts ? Apologies that this thread has morphed into something else - MODS feel free to step in.
Thanks as ever
Garp

OK,my 426 has PCV on pass side and vent/oil filler on driver side. My 318 was the other way round. The 426 is totally oil tight everywhere.

yeah Latil, that's the same as mine so you would think, as you say, the small block is the other way around :thumbright:

PCV on drivers side, breather on passenger side. 340. No smoke/fumes apparent.

.... "can of worms" ......
Once someone has a definitive way and a bonafide reason why, I'm keeping as it ....
In anticipation ....

For some reason, I cant get onto the online manual for your car on MyMopar....doh! The diagram on my last post is scanned from my Polara factory manual so there should be one for your engine in yours.

Im with you, sort that leak out as per Blues suggestion. While you are waiting for gaskets etc, have a dig around and see what you can find re the crankcase vent system.

Pete always tells me....'Google is your friend'.....wise words when it comes to our old cars :thumbright:

From a thread on ForAbodies only quote

'The PCV system sucks the fumes that build up in the crank case and returns them back into the engine to be burnt. On a V engine the pcv valve is typically on one valve cover and a breather is on the other. The breather is there to allow air back in or you could create a vacuum in the crankcase. If you don't run a pcv valve at all you can build up pressure and force oil out past the seals or breather.'
