Well my long awaited top notch repro indicator switch arrived yesterday. Fitted it, forgot to attach my new earth lead from my homemade bulb holder on the front passenger side and melted the switch......FFFFFFFFUUUUUUU*********KKKKKK sake!!!
Bit the bullet and ordered another one today....doh!!

All a learning curve mate. If we didn't make silly mistakes we wouldn't be human.
The rest of the car is looking awesome. Interior has come out a treat with the seats you done and the new carpet.

Thanks octanejunkie, very time consuming but turned out ok....
Thanks Si and you are right, my confussion got in the way of common sense. Of course, as you say, a poor or non existent earth just means the circuit is incomplete and doesnt work. Turns out I had wired the power into the earth side of the holder which shorted out when the holder touched the casing....doh....switch fried!!
Bodywork is always time consuming. I remember putting a pair of new arches onto a Mercedes i was restoring, and it took days to get right.
Didn't look as good as yours either.
I love that bit where you finally spray the colour on and it all seems worth it!
