She still doesnt know about all the stuff thats been through the dishwasher Gaz!! :D :D

Put the rear seatbelts in today, reinstalled the rear seat and did a bit more to the crazing on the rear upper quarter. Work is beckoning and the rain has started so thats it for today. .... suppose every little bit counts

Day of sanding, coffee, guide coating, coffee, sanding etc and the drivers side rear quarter is readg for paint..... :thumbright:

Well my long awaited top notch repro indicator switch arrived yesterday. Fitted it, forgot to attach my new earth lead from my homemade bulb holder on the front passenger side and melted the switch......FFFFFFFFUUUUUUU*********KKKKKK sake!!!

Bit the bullet and ordered another one today....doh!!

All a learning curve mate. If we didn't make silly mistakes we wouldn't be human.
The rest of the car is looking awesome. Interior has come out a treat with the seats you done and the new carpet.
And looks soooooo cool on them steels ! =P~

Chin up mate.
When I was 18 I done up a Cavalier to make a few quid. Needed a patch welded for mot. Gas and air welder. Un noticed fuel leak ...........
All a learning curve. :roll:

Only things I salvaged where the freshly painted Rostyle wheels and tyres !!!
A mate bought them and stuck them on his Viva Estate. Looked cool actually :lol:

:shock: surprised at that, would have thought a missing earth would only cause that bulb not to light ... ??

to melt the switch you'd need a dead short or fault in the switch itself :?

Thanks octanejunkie, very time consuming but turned out ok....

Thanks Si and you are right, my confussion got in the way of common sense. Of course, as you say, a poor or non existent earth just means the circuit is incomplete and doesnt work. Turns out I had wired the power into the earth side of the holder which shorted out when the holder touched the casing....doh....switch fried!!

Bodywork is always time consuming. I remember putting a pair of new arches onto a Mercedes i was restoring, and it took days to get right.
Didn't look as good as yours either.
I love that bit where you finally spray the colour on and it all seems worth it!

The car is coming along nicely, interior is very nice, and so is the body work.

Looks like a sweet car to drive :thumbright: and you even have the 1/4 skirts :read2:
