That looks like the same sump I am going to run on the street.
A lot will depend on your oiling set up and any top end restrictions or also Blower feeds. Not my specialist area.

The big concern is that at high RPM with a high volume oil pump; all the oil is around the engine and none is in the sump, resulting in bearing failure.

I had that, but it was a combination of that and a small oil pick up - lesson hard-learned...........

If i needed more oil in the sump, id make it wider not deeper. Engine will still die if you put a hole through the sump because its too low. The K frame wants to be the lowest part.

I did what roger said on mine and made my standard sump wider and slightly longer to increase oil capacity. I would run a sump that low on the street.

Engine paint not to everyone taste but pushing the boundaries between crap looking and class.

The engine will be dressed with everything black.

The front cover is black zinc dipped.

engine is 8 to 1 compression

that's the plan everything black sump covers headers leads etc hoping it will karm down the gold paint. Do want the blower manifold and blower all polished ally hope this won't all be to much

I think you will have to paint the blower case gold too or it is going to look odd.

Coming along nicely :thumbright:

You could always do the blower manifold Gold & Blower black, might be a good contrast with Gold block, Black valve covers.

I like blowers black, hence mine was anodised black :D
