Looks to me as if there is plenty of room for a master cylinder but the booster would have to be like the Hemi type if you want to take the valve cover off easily.
Then again. If you have power steering you could also use the pump to give you power brakes too with one of these things as used on some GM products.

Lots of room with one of those. Handy for Hemi conversions too.

Thanks for your comments, a few good points raised. i test fitted the engine before i got started, im having to alter the servo mounting bracket, gunna use the same mounting holes but cut an inch off the lower edge to clear the drivers side rocker cover, this also means altering the link from the pedal to the servo that fits inside the mounting bracket, it will be an inch shorter and im hoping it wont affect the force to the servo too much
The engine is from a right hand drine fury i owned years ago, so the drivers side manifold has a centre outlet and clears the steering box a treat, i may one day fit headers but ive read alot of threads on here about the pros and cons of fitting them and decided against it, but never say never
Could anyone advise me on an ignition system, at the moment its got points and condeser, would it be possiable to take the electronic system from the 318 dizzy and put it in this one, or should i just get a new set up, Thanks again Darran

Don`t forget the white bits either

I copied the idea from a `70 Coronet

That Dunc had. Loved that car looked real well

That looks great mate! I think a 383 is perfect for the shorter Aussie chassis, that car should really go.
Could you not take the electronic system from the later BB engines (72 up I think)?

a VF or earlier aussie /6 brake setup will have that big booster mounted elsewhere
give a bit more access pointless chasing US hemi parts
or just junk the booster the MC can be made to work with the pushrod in the other hole.

Or get an aftermarket remote servo (or old british type), then you can hide it where you want and choose the effort ratio you want.

I managed to get it all to fit and can still remove the o/s rocker cover with the booster on, i reshaped the mounting bracket for the booster but still used the same mounting holes, things are a tight squeeze around that area, but they were with the 318 fitted

. One job that turned out easier than i thought was the gear linkage, it just connected striaght up to the car shifter and worked, speedo cable fitted striaght in, gearbox crossmember bolted striaght to the 727, even the kick down linkage is sorted, guess its all been abit too easy summut gotta go wrong.....
As for the ignition, i ordered a pentronix system, its not the best, but its better than points, i plan on having this car a while so will upgrade as i go along
Thanks Darran
Hey James, i must must must arange to come and get that bonnet sometime soon
