I am enjoying reading this as I have never seen so much open talk when it comes to selecting a new Chair person.
I thought this club was different, and now I have been in for nearly a year I know for sure it is.
Good luck with finding someone and members are helpful as always.

Or more likely, we'd both leave it up to the other, and no one would be doing the job
Careful what you wish for - we'd make 'It's Friday, let's Rock!' compulsory, and the merest mention of Northern Soul or any other girly Bananarama! would incur a lifetime ban

What about "ANT AND DEK"
Derek seems to round to Antons most days, they could sort the club's affairs over all that tea they drink

Duncan would be a great Chairman, think of all the crumpet lining up to be come members!
Pete Walton would no doubt upset everyone and they'd all leave and he'd re-name the MMA the 60's and 70's Super Stock Racer's Association.
Mr Runner would only do it for 50 grand a year.
Dave Tildsley and Gary Moss appear to be setting up a recruitment agency for the Chairman's job, but they haven't got one application through the door yet!
Steve Bilson will only do what Mrs B tells him and she said he's got too much ironing to do, anyway, if he had his way we'd all be driving aircraft carriers and holding up the traffic on the M42.
Rob and Stu would implement that ghastly Friday let's rock thread to cover the fact that they are really a Proclaimers tribute band.
Finally, Dave Grey would confuse the entire issue by taking us on a trip to La La land and before we know it we'll all be riding TV175's listening to Prince Buster and wearing weejuns and fishtail parkas or driving utes and believing that six cylinder engines are the way to go.
...now then, Dave Robson and Jem have been keeping a bloody low profile!

It is lonely up at the top.
Well it would be if I was Chairman because everybody else would leave the club!

And some of us would be forced to leave.

Looks like no one is stepping up, why not have it as a shared job like Steve mentioned if its only for a year?

Well a lot of the guys mentioned already I don't really know but from those I've met I'd certainly give my vote to either Pete W, Dunc, Dave R or Dave 999

Yeah.....Dunc's a good call!
Could always rename us Mullets, Muff and Ass!
Can't be many people left as most have counted themselves out for now!
So Dunc, Rob/Stu, Dave999 and Dave seem to be the ones on the list!
When do the interviews start?

Most club members and events they attend are in the south east so it makes sense to have a chairman that lives in that general area.
