exhaust headers

I got a set of old dented headers so nothing to lose

I blasted, high temp primmer, then high temp black

I then wrapped

You should not wrap

1. they hold water and will rust your headers over time

2. if you get a fuel leak they with soak up fuel possible fire.

There are now high temp silicon sprays that will help this

I then wired them with a 1mm solid brass wire.

We have a special tool for spinning up the wiring like that in the Workshop. Its very quick and easy to use and you always get good results.

Looks great....but not recommended , mate.

Race car yes ...but road car ??
moisture retention will rot the headers quicker,
and spill anything on them...mostly fuel and start the car a few hours or more later and whoosh instant fire when headers get hot enough
One good scrape on a speed hump or pot hole and it starts to look like your dragging an old tea towel under the car

JMO

Ask me how I know ?? :help:

thank you gents

yes i used the lock wire pliers

The trick is to soak the wrap in a bucket of water first for 3 hours this makes it a little larger and easier to apply. then once dry it shrinks to fit.

Also use a good wrap and spray to stop water getting in

http://www.thermotec.com/products/12001 ... ating.html

i used 150 ft of wrap and 100ft of brass wire
