The MoT hasn't changed at all, just the collection of data and the maintenance of such.
Red indicators are still illegal this year, just like they were last year and for the previous 40 years.
Someone is going to come a cropper on this one day and find their £20,000 'classic' is worth nothing to the insurance company after the accident when they find out it had illegal indicators and their inspector is clever enough to find them.

How true ,and all the other mods that they weren't told about. If they want to be awkward that's ANY mod that's not factory original.

Get your insurance from the NSRA and put all modifications down. Still cheap as chips.

You can't if you are running them illegally.

Yes, but you have to declare orange indicators as making it a modified vehicle then

Yes,the insurer should be told that the lighting has been modified to comply with the law.

Is there a rule about the flashing speed of indicators?
I only ask as mine are playing up, the RHS ones are flashing twice as fast as the LHS ones. I've checked all the bulbs and all are working, the wiring seems ok, i.e. both sides are wired the same. if I add an extra earth the indicator and the tail lights flash on that side, mine has had the reversing lights converted for use. I did think it was a loose wire as it started yesterday but all the wires are still connected and no blown fuses
any help appreciated
TIA

Flashing speed is 60-120 per min for the mot. Usually a blown or too low wattage bulb will speed up the flashing, double check all earth connections.

Nige there are two seperate flasher relays on a charger, one each side of the steering wheel just under the dash, they will be two pin ones,if you go to Halfords get the three pin universal ones and the third spade is used as an earth , change them both

Thanx Latil, already checked all of those
Chargeruk - there's only one flasher relay, down on the right hand side of the dash and it's a 3 pin one. both indicators use the same one, I can feel it working as it flashes (ooer)

Steve (of Doom)
Suggest you contact Steve (AllKiller) and ask where he goes. I think it's in Hemel Hempstead (Apsley area) and he says he never has any trouble with indicators and the like.
Drop him a PM....
