Headers this week, I'm at the mocking up and swearing stage. I expected the drivers side to be a bit of a challenge but that went in and cleared easily, apart from the clutch Z bar which I had anticipated, bit of a rework needed there. Pass. side was another story, had to remove the torsion bar to get it in and then found they fouled on a sticky out bit on the bottom of the bell housing and also a lump on the block under the centre exhaust ports had to come off. I also took a chunk out of my thumb while I was at it, that didn't help access much.
So, I might only have fag paper clearances in places but the plug access and clearance for the leads is very good.
I started mocking up the rest of the tti system, it fits after a fashion but will need various bits shortening due to the huge mufflers, the space between the prop and the chassis is extremely tight so everything will need tweaking to get them in the best position.

Hard core! Does the exhaust system get solid mounted aswell? Exciting as always...

No I use conventional hangers, strengthened as it is there will still be a certain amount of torsional twist in the body so you need to allow for that. For that same reason you don't solidly mount the gearbox as well, a broken tailshaft would be the result.

System sorted and tacked up ready for welding. The crossover pipe had to go, no way could I get that to line up with the pipes in the position I needed. Even so the muffler on the pass. side is really tight, even with a dink on the edge of it I barely have a fingers width clearance on the prop UJ and the same on the other side against the chassis. I'll have to mod the hangers to limit travel or else it'll twat the prop when cornering for sure. Still need to finish the turndowns but It's basically done....

Wow!

No room for a Prop loop then?

Plenty of room at the front for a loop, I wouldn't race without one. It's only tight to the floor and at the rear, elsewhere it's fine. Had the springs not been moved in it would probably have fitted out of the box, just loosing that 1.5" of space takes away any leeway you would have had.

Looking good, silencer hangers look super heavy duty, not seen them before, what make of silencer and dia have you gone for.
