Indeed, its like watching something from the space program, it's certainly at the cutting edge of what a man in a very well equipped shed can achieve!

You could get a job as Tesco wrapping up rotisserie chickens and hot baguettes.

Stirling work by the way.

Oh my god. I've been absent for a bit and I'd missed the one about the battery-in-the-fuel-tank.
No Will, that seems fine; I mean why WOULDNT you use an envelope of explosive fuel to cool a source of chemical ignition ?? :drunken:

Spotted this on a FB post the other day, is this an old pic of the Genesis of the build?

Radiators

Cooling is black magic and snake oil, and there is very little information in the public domain.
Most F1 teams keep their information very close, and it is tough to test prototypes. Over the last few years, we have run a few radiators and tried different things. Unfortunately, we seem to spend more time designing and testing than building.

The basic concept was simple on paper to take high-pressure air off the nose through naca ducts.

Naca Ducts allows air to flow into an internal duct with a minimal disturbance to the flow.

The design was originally called a submerged inlet, since it consists of a shallow ramp with curved walls recessed into the exposed surface of a streamlined body, such as an aircraft.

We spent hours looking at different ducting designs. Rad surface area, core sizes, outlets, inlets...

There are so many variables all affecting each other. Also, we need to design for a 7miles track at Bonville high altitude, high ambient temperature.

Pictures are a mix of iterations of design and how we got there.

The design was fully completed in CAD, and we carried out a full flow and CFD simulation on both the air and waterside and their interaction with each other.

Uncanny timing, we were only talking about this last night and wondering where you’d got to. :thumbright:

We had customer cores made to our specification from Thickness /fins per inch/header tank flow veins.

I'm sure you've already taken it into account but won't exiting the spent hot air underneath cause lift or does it just assist with scavenging?
