The Oz PBR brakes on my Valiant (4" pcd Discs) didn't have enough meat to redrill to the 4.5" size.

Best way is to change UCA's and use "B" body discs........

The drum hubs will probably have enough room to drill a bigger pattern on them, I've had both 9" and 10" redrilled in the past. You will struggle to find any wheels these days that will take 4" PCD, the centre cap hole is usually too big.

Thanks guys i will change to B body discs, running with adapters just now but would like to get rid of them asap, do i have to change the whole front end or are parts like track rod ends, calipers etc interchangable.

Also need to change the pcd on the rear, currently has a lame 7 1/4 so was going to just change the whole axle, which axle should i be looking for?

Is that an aussie VF VG?

you can fit VH onwards front end to it and go to the bigger pattern
you will need the stubs brakes and rotors
balljoints should fit
not sure about track rod ends

rear end you have both aussie and US to look at

Your diff will be a Borg Warner 78 series diff.

single spinner is no good and deserves The lame title

if its an LSD centre then there are options.
it will be a 2 pinion friction cone LSD centre

This diff was made until 1992. if you want to beef it up
get
4 pinion centre from 82-92 camaro/firebird or
aussie ford/Holden/Toyota nissan skyline/cortina/leyland
swap in the 25spline side gears and cones from your current centre so you don't need to get custom axles made

shim it to make it nice and tight.

choose from 5.1 (mental) 4.11 3.9 3.89 3.5 3.45 3.23 2.92 or 2.77:1 gears

don't buy the diff centre from a car with 2.77 gears unless you want 2.77 gears. its off set to fit in that whopping big pinnion

use arp studs instead of bolts to hold it into the housing
use a back cover with an integral girdle

http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/index ... rodID=1674

use a solid pinion spacer and shims rather than a crush sleave
lap it in properly
and you have a good diff

in the US this diff is called the GM 9 bolt

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/faq-b ... about.html

if you can get custom axles made then the diff centre from the new Pontiac GTO/Holden monaro TVR/Marcos fits your case, its a modern HydraTrak style (no friction cones) centre but it fits if you get 34 spline axles made up

or if you want a locking centre

get in touch with lokka in australia they will sell you a bag of cogs n stuff to stick into a 2 pinion or 4 pinion posi of this type to give a gentle and silent locking action....yeah right

The Jolly chasps wot built em in the first place

the axle

seperated cone LSD is the one you want but the others will fit the case

for parts in the UK
http://www.bpw.co.uk/Automotive-DanaParts.html

site works best in firefox everything in tables gets misalinged in IE

expect some help with part numbers from Spicer axle
expect no help from BPW

whoopy doo brand spankin new 4 pinion centre with hardend cones £250

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Borgwarner-Heavy ... dZViewItem

thes guys also do all the bits you need

if you are running the orginal BW 35 auto you won't break this axle.

they die due to too much pinion to ring gear back lash or because the cones wear out and it becomes like a single spinner, in which case one or all of the little pinion gears crumbles like a biccy.

put together properly your weakest link is the axle shafts which are cheaper and easier to replace than a gearbox or a centre.

and you could have 2 of these for the cost of an 8 3/4 which would proabably still need £££ thrown at it

$150 each for a centre you may need 2 to get the right combo of 4 pinion gears and 25 spline side gears and cones
25 spline cones are $44 AUD each new.

US prices for fitting kit are not much < $100
ring and pinion second hand $75 $200
single spinners i have had in the past for £75

charger /VH onwards is widest
then the VG VF
then the centura

gives ya some options for wheel offset if need be
