how much space is behind the wood look panel on the pass side on the dash i was thinking [if there is enough] room of getting a replacment panel [as not to ruin that one] and have a cd player cut into it would this be possible??

Simeon,

Seriously son, I would just sit the darn thing in the glove box. Even if you go getting a new panel, is slicing it up really what you want for a nice spare part????.

If you really wanted one with the radio in I imagine it would be a lot cheaper made from fibre glass. I know doing the woodgrain would be difficult but you could always paint the glass panel to match the rest of the dash.

oh, and you need to have a stern word with yerself about that choice of music son :? :D

Don't cut it  Is there any way one can be mounted under the dash, forward of the gear stick? Not so easy to reach I know but you can get them with remote control pads these days. ;)

Simon, my RR has a bracket/fitting inside the glovebox that had a cdplayer/radio before I bought the car. You are welcome to have to whole contraption, I'll bring it to the nat's if you want it.

If that's the only place it will fit, leave it out. Don't cut it, it will look butchered and you'll regret it.

Where does the factory radio fit? Is there a radio delete plate?

That's a very good / kind offer! Why don't you at least have a look? Worst case is you can test it and find it doesn't fit.

You might find that it will fit if you take the back out of the glovebox. I'm sure our glove box inner is just thick cardboard!
