I can do it too. But it is a lot easier to see/hear/feel if everything is alright when it is in a running car.

Be prepared for a big bill if you want all new bearings and or a new ring and pinion.

My advice to you would be to run it on the car and see if it has issues before diving into the deep end.

It might help if you put your location in your profile.

Hi RT,

Where are you? Got some diff repair parts here in Kent.
What carrier is it, 489 or 742?

Baccy.

Wil is your man if you live in Brum.

Put your location in on your profile so we know in future where you are.

So just out of interest Dave, what sort of average price can you expect for getting an 8 3/4 suregrip overhauled. What is 'big bills'? :)

So are you talking just bearings?

R&P?

Suregrip?

I havent got a clue fella. I suppose ring n pinion bearings and seals???

£500?

Including labor. Yes. About £500.

That would be all seals, gasket, shims, ring bolts, the 4 bearings etc and a new R&P.

That seems quite reasonable for a peace of mind type exercise. :?
