Charger rear axle id

Post by Anonymous »

Anyone help with ID'ing and axle on a 1968 Dodge charger. It's a 383. Been under, taken all the numbers off it. I want to replace the lhr wheel bearing, plus it's leaking, just want to get the right bits. Numbers on the diff are, 2881489, this looks like a part number, there is a big B6, 280 on a small tag, can't find a ratio tag, I know where it should go but it's not there.
Been on the net and found some pics but not much else really. Any info would help. Thanks

It's a large 1-7/8 pinion type, a good one to have.

Hi Fergal,

Easy way out of this one!

Just have a pair of green, non adjustment bearings fitted!!!

8-3/4 or Dana, the same, they dont need seals or setting up, easy peasy.

Cost you less than a 100quid.
