Dodge Challenger Starts at $37,995
SRT8 version goes on sale Monday.

You can satisfy your craving for some Dodge-style musclecar love, but it will cost you-$37,995, to be precise.

Dodge says the new 2008 Challenger will be priced from that point. And more importantly, for those flush with cash, is that the Challenger will go on sale next Monday, December 3, qualifying the Challenger as a 2008 model. Deliveries will happen in spring 2008.

The first Challengers to roll out of Chrysler's Canadian factory will all be SRT8 models, with a 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 pounding out an unnamed level of horsepower (we're betting it's not 200). Each of those first Challengers will get a special plaque to commemorate its status, guaranteeing an eBay auction of epic proportions starting next week.
Three colors will be offered-black, silver and HEMI orange-all decorated with dual hood stripes.

Dodge promises that the Challenger will have resonant styling, a racing-inspired interior, a world-class ride and handling set, benchmark braking, and a standout powertrain.

Pricing for the rest of the Challenger lineup will be announced later.

2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 models feature 6.1-liter HEMI® V-8 and
are available in Black, Silver or HEMI Orange.

Auburn Hills, Mich. - Dodge announced pricing today for the modern
interpretation of the American muscle coupe. The 2008 Dodge Challenger
SRT8® will arrive in showrooms next spring at a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $37,995 (which includes $675 destination).

Due to unprecedented demand, Dodge dealers will begin taking orders on Dec.3 for the limited-edition 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 models. Each will feature a numbered dash plaque and a 6.1-liter HEMI® V-8 engine.

2008 Challenger SRT8 models will be available in Black, Silver and HEMI Orange.All will feature dual “carbon-fiber” hood stripes, harkening back to the original Dodge Challenger.

“The 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 offers pure American pony-car muscle,” said James Press, Vice Chairman & President – Chrysler LLC. “With styling that stays true to Challenger’s original heritage, an abundance of modern amenities and cutting-edge technology, the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 will deliver the SRT credo of benchmark performance at a tremendous value. “The Challenger SRT8 is only the beginning of the story, as we’ll soon follow with a complete lineup of Challenger models that will offer a wide array of features and deliver outstanding value for our customers,” Press added.

Customers may begin placing orders at their Dodge dealer on Monday, Dec. 3. They can expect to take delivery of their vehicle next spring.
The all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 will be built at the Chrysler Canada Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario, on the same assembly line with the Dodge Charger, Charger SRT8, Magnum, Magnum SRT8, Chrysler 300 and Chrysler 300 SRT8 vehicles.

Pricing for the complete all-new Dodge Challenger lineup will be announced at a later date. wayhay they certainly did a better job with that than they did with the charger.Who knows in thirty years time people might be after these as much as they are after the 70s challys.

i would be more than happy to have the new chally in my collection loverly looking car

It's very heavily rumoured that there will be a "stripper" version available before too long. Hemi and bugger all options 'cept a Dana rear end. Ford and Chevy are supposedly going to do the same and the plan is to run 'em all in a specific NHRA class. Let's hope the whole thing comes off, musclecar wars version 1.2....

I've been told it will not be exported to Europe, though. Who wants one will have to buy and ship it over yourselves.

A lot of the dealers are selling them for well over the MSRP. It will be a little while before you can get one at a decent price.

Plus many dealers are being told they can only have one or two for now.

Seems to have a different grile and rear light setup in the top pics compared to the concept, hope it doesnt look too different

Wake up! There have been several posts lately telling you when each model is due out. The SRT is out NOW.

Edit. Sorry. I meant you can order it now and there is a two month wait for delivery.
