Hi-draulic Hauler/Performance level 4
Extremely violent mid range and top end power

Really need a see a pic Pete. Worst case scenario is having to use an external oiling system. You need to get yourself a 2 bob digital camera, and learn how to post pictures it really is easy.

Check those piston numbers again, 3690831 would be the old Direct Connection 30 over, 11.5:1 pop up TRW forged pistons. That cam is a healthy piece as well, that engine should have really flown.

I bet that motor was robbed of a killer set of heads Pete!

On the subject of the oil pick up, it's not the end of the world, it could always be helicoiled or taken out for a big custom pick up couldn't it? :roll:
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Before you do anything rash, get hold of a cheapie digital camera and take a snap of the bit that's knackered, I bet it can be saved.

Then, as Blue said if it is totally us, you could always go for an external set up...I'm sticking with the old school pick up and deep Moroso sump...don't want to get too modern do I? :D

External oiling systems go waay back Ivor, they were using them in the max wedge days.

Yes, but the blokes that know why will tell you :thumbright:
You can pump up oil so fast that it cannot return to the bottom end quick enough as I recall :read2:

Steve, can't find the thread, but it was in reference to people using high output pumps on pretty stock motors.
Something to do with 340/360 motor ( my area of interest) having poor drainback qualities, the oil doesn't return to the pan quick enough. Susupect this was in reference to racing motors which is why oiling changes are recommended.
Remember Alex (I think) once mentioning that too much oil pressure could blow a filter.
