THE UK MUSCLE CAR POWER TOUR 2008
THE POWER TOUR
THE MOPAREURONATS TEAM ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THIS NEW SERIES
The basic rules are:- Must be an American Built Car any year,
A MAXIMUM tyre width of 10.5 inches and must be stamped on the tyre itself
There will be FOUR actual events with each heat winner having the LOWEST et as an average over TWO runs, a time penalty will apply if there is a missed run. The series winner will have the LOWEST average et over the eight runs, with a time penalty for any missed runs, so CONSISTANCEY is the key!
THE CONFIRMED DATES ARE THUS
ROUND 1 race 1 and 2 Sunday 4th May York Raceway
ROUND 2 race 3 and 4 Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June Shakespeare County Raceway, YANKS Weekend
ROUND 3 race 5 and 6 Saturday EVENING 26th July Santa Pod Raceway MoparEuroNats Weekend
ROUND 4 race 7 and 8 Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th October Shakespeare County Raceway Bonfire Burn Up Spectacular hosted by the MoparEuroNats
The dates will not change but times may alter owing to weather conditions.
This is the first time in years that all three tracks have been involved in a nationwide series bringing them together. The MoparEuroNats committee are proud to instigate this initiative and we look forward to some close heads up racing in what will be a very exciting series. Please support the Power Tour!

It is about time we had something to encourage people to use all the tracks in this country.

I think it would have been even more interesting if a couple of the tracks were circuits though. Maybe in the future? Something to think about maybe.

Dave - a 'One lap of America' kinda thing over here could do that, would be tough to organise though, lol.

Tho I dont stand much chance of any success, will need to lop off 1" of me tyres..or tweak the lettering :read2:

Great idea, I hope to participate, but will be picking up lots of penalties as the car is nowhere near ready yet............ :cry:

Should be good,as most racers/RWYBers do at least two or three of these events,rumour as it surreymuscle have got more muscle this year.
To win though,I think you will have to do all eight runs,and be consistant,
11 or 12 sec average could win because of the penalties,fantastic.

We are vey pleased to announce that W-A-S-P will be the Power Tour sonsors for 2008. Many thanks. Lets get this new competition up and running. All we need is commitment from the racers and some really quick cars. This I feel is gonna be one heluva great series.

Hi folks, just a quick update. The feedback to this new series has been overwhelming, fantastic, thank you to all have gotten in touch. This has really captured the imagination and already is going to be very popular. You guys really wanted a competition like this, thats for sure. Even if you miss a round you can STILL win, consistancy is the game and a quick car as well, oh yeah a good driver helps as well.
